Mera Peak climbing Overview
Mera Peak Climbing is one of the best peak climbing routes in the Everest Region. Top of Mera peak offers the majestic view of Everest region with the summit of Mt. Everest. The peak is the highest peak in Nepal with a height of 6461 meters from the Sea level. This route of trekking is a life-time experience because you will be seeing one of the top-rated trekking destinations in the world.
Mera Peak is the most popular peaks in the Khumbu Region and quite similar to Island Peak Climbing. The journey itself is an adventurous and life-time experience. We will be analyzing all peaks and mountains above 5000 meters. Three mountains with hight more than 800m can be seen from the summit of Mera Peak. Countless ice-structure and Himalayas will be seen from all over the route.
The route became famous only sometime back and we might not find any tea houses during the trek. Camping trek is the best option for climbing Mera Peak. Lots of equipment is necessary for this trek including food, cloth, cooking material and some medicine. Packing all kind of necessary equipment is essential for the successful completion of this climbing.
The trip starts from Kathmandu with a scenic flight to Lukla popularly known for its challenging weather conditions. The flight will only hold on the Morning because of Fog, air condition in Lukla airport. We then ascend towards the Mera peak with packed bags and all the necessary types of equipment. The trekking journey will be completed in 18 days.
Mera Peak climbing Itinerary
We will pick you up at the airport and move to a hotel in a luxury private car. In the evening we will have a delicious welcome dinner at a typical Nepal restaurant.
On the next day, we will be doing sightseeing of Kathmandu including various famous places like Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Syembhunath, and Durbar square of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan. On the evening we pack all the belongings, equipment, and other necessary documents, meet a guide, make some plan and sleep
On the third day, we will take a flight to Lukla popularly known for its challenging weather for the airplane to land and take off as well. After reaching Lukla, we will have lunch and trek to Paiya which may take up to 3 hours
After the morning breakfast we aill start our trekking to Panggon. During the trekking for this day, we will go through Karila Pass, filled with Rhododendron forest, and pine forest surrounded by Peaks filled with snow. Local farmland can be seen from the route of 4th days.
The descending trek will start after a delicious breakfast in Panggon. The trekking trail will then move forward to Ningsow by crossing Peseng Kharka Khola, and Peeng Kharka Dada. The route is filled with lots of natural beauty including Mountain View, jungle and local lifestyle of Sherpa people.
From Ningsow we climb to Ramailo dada for almost 2 hours. We then descend to Chhtra Khola for the remaining treks for this day. We will touch Makalu Barun National Park allowing us to analyze the beautiful forest with Red panda and other wild animals.
On the 7th day of our treks we will move to higher altitude in Mera peak. We will walk towards the main trial of Mera Peak climbing on the North side of Chhitre Khola. Hinku Khola is another hightlight for this route of trekking. Seasonal Tea House can be found in Tashing Ongma.
Walking along the ridge of Hinku Khola on the shadow of Mera Peak we will reach Gondishung. 200 years old Lungsumgba Gompa will be our next destination with a map to the summit of Mera Peak, the map is built on stone. Overnight stay will be done in Thaknak with a delicious Sherpa Food.
This is one of the special day during our Mera Peak Climbing, we will see the majestic view of Charpate Himal, Hinku nup, and Shar glaciers. We can see the northern side of mera peak from the Khare. Overnight stay will be done in a Tea house in Khare
This is the rest day for remaining adventurous climbing. Analyzing the beautiful views of high Himalayas on the morning and have a little bit training for climbing is the main task for this day. We will make you familiar with all the necessary equipment for climbing a mountain including, rope fixing, ice axe, harness, boots, and crampons. We will stay a overnight in Khare
On this day we will hike towards the high camp of mera peak. This is quite challenging as someone might feel some difficulties becaue of the high altitude. We will be bringing all medical equipment to cure the altitude sickness. Excellent views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Cho-oyu can be seen from the high camp with the views of Makalu on the east.
The most important day of our trek as we will be on the top of Mera peak above 6400m from the sea level. All those hardwork, training is useful in this day. Not even a single fault is strictly prohibited during the summit of Mera Peak. Using all the brought equipment makes us easy for the completion of this trekking. We can see majestic view of all mountains in east Nepal including Kanchengjunga, Amadablam, Island peak and other giant mountains. After the summit we come back to high camp for an overnight stay.
Weather in high altitude is always changing and it’s not sure that we will complete the climbing in predefined duration. We might need an extra day for completion of Mera Peak cimbing if the condition is really bad for climbing on the previous day.
On this day we will descend Khare to Kothe for almost 6 hours. The exhausted body need some delicious food, we have this and sleep with the planning of moving to Thuli Kharka on the other day
This ascending to Thuli Kharka is also filled with great adventure on the ice of Khumbu region. We will cross several tributaries in Inkhu Khola, Chorten and move towards the green forest on the remaining trekking.
On the 16th day we will trek to Lukla crossing Zatrwa-La pass for 5-7 hours. Breakfast, Lunch will be done on the way to Lukla. We then enjoy the last evening on the Khumbu Region with the expectation of moving to Kathmandu next morning
The scenic flight from lukla to Kathmandu will be done in the morning. We can see the spectacular view of jngle, village, green hills, and mountain from the plane. We will move to hotel in a private car.
Adventure Altitude Treks representative will pick you up at your hotel and move to the Tribhuvan international airport for departure. We then say bye bye to each other with the hope of meeting again for your next adventure in Nepal
