Accommodation : Typical Tea houses accommodation , twin sahring basis , no attach restrooms
About the accommodaton and foods available : A tea house is the combination of guest house, restaurant, and social hang out. Private rooms are available in most tea houses, except for high altitudes ones where it will be just dormitories. The lodges are fairly basic. The rooms are sparse with twin beds and very little additional furniture. Blankets are generally provided. Most bathrooms are shared and toilets can be either squat type or western style. Most tea houses have running water. The majority of tea houses only have cold showers, a few may have hot water available at an additional cost. However, we discourage our groups from using water heated by wood, as lack of firewood in villages is a big environmental concern in Nepal.
There is a large dining room-cum-lounge, warmed by the bukhara stove (an iron cylinder, fitted with a chimney duct, in which a log fire is lighted). There is normally no electric lighting in the rooms unless the village has hydroelectric power. The dining room usually has solar lighting. Some tea houses now also have electricity for charging small appliances - mobile phones and cameras - and there may be a small charge for this.
During a tea house trek you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the tea house, lunch will be eaten at one of the trail side restaurants. Every tea house serves the traditional Nepali meal Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), as well as a variety of different food items, such as rice, vegetables, noodles, potatoes and soup. Some have Nepali versions of western food such as pizza, pasta and french fries. Soft drinks, snacks and beer are available in most of the tea houses and trail side restaurants. And, of course, Nepali milk tea is served everywhere.
All tea houses have boiled water for trekkers. We discourage the purchase of bottled water while on the trail. The plastic bottles are difficult to dispose off and have become an environmental problem.

Acclimatization in Everest Base Camp Trrek with Helicopter Return trip :

Acclimatization is giving your body sufficient time to adjust itself to changes that come in with the higher altitude. The higher you go off the sea level, the thinner the breathable air becomes. Consequently, you have increased breathing rate, faster heartbeat and the body starts adjusting its internal mechanism to adapt to this change in the external atmosphere, suppression of non-essential body function is an example. So, when you allow sufficient time for your body to adjust its internal mechanism against this rather rapid change in altitude is acclimatization. Altitude Sickness is the collective term for a medical condition wherein a person is exposed to air with lesser oxygen concentration in higher altitudes and develops several problems, that begin with mild headache and breathlessness combined with a loss of appetite and sleeping difficulty. These are the preliminary symptoms of AMS or Altitude sickness. Ignoring thise symptoms may cause fatal injuries to brain and lungs ultimately leading to death. The moderate symptoms include dizziness, severe headache, vomoiting, feelingof hangover and diarrhoea.

If the diagnosis of the victim is further ignored the person may feel drowsiness, swollen body, blue-black lips, and unconsciousness as the severe symptoms. There are some rare cases of death due to AMS, the primary reason being lack of proper acclimatization. Everest Base Camp Trek witnesses several trekkers who suffer from AMS just because they didn’t take acclimatization seriously besides the carelessness in its diagnosis. But you don't need to worry about these problems as we have prepare our itinerary perfectly so that you can avoid the risk and enjoy the trek without any concern. Also , we have guides who are trained professionally for first-aid and AMS related problems.

*Important : How to avoid Altitude sickness during the trek ?

Some of the most important and essential rules to prevent altitude sickness are:
• Go slow or acclimatize properly while you trek to a higher altitude. Give your body proper time to adapt to a new environment. Namche Bazaar is a suitable place for acclimatization in Everest          Base Camp Trek.
• Get hydrated properly. Drink plenty of water while you trek.
• If you feel the symptoms of AMS descent as soon as possible with a friend, not alone.
• Ascend high only if you feel okay.
• Carry the tablets of Diamox or Acetazolamide with you to make your body adjust to high altitude.

** Inform your trekking team leader if you have sbown symptoms of altitude sickness. Do not ascend further more rather descend and find a place to rest.
