Motorbike riding is always fun, be it on black-topped smooth roads or completely off-beaten tracks. But riding alongside the mighty mountains on complete off-road tracks gives you a different feeling of accomplishment, fun, and thrilling adventure. The tour to the highest lake in the world, Tilicho which is situated at an altitude of 4,920 m above sea level, is a complete package of thrilling adventure which offers some of the world’s best scenery, magnificent views of tall mountains, beautiful river valley, deep gorges, pristine waterfalls, etc. Since this tour is graded as challenging, it requires certain skills and experience. Skills like normal mechanical skills are of great help.
Imagine the amount of fun and adventure while off-roading to the base of the great Himalayan Ranges. The tour to the world’s highest lake is not only fun and adventure but also thrilling and exciting. The trip offers riders an amazing view of different vegetation types ranging from sub-tropical to alpine and finally to vegetation-less areas. Along the way, riders can also enjoy the different Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan-Buddhist cultures. So this ride is a whole package of Upper Himalayan culture and natural aspects.
The trip begins the next day after you arrive in Kathmandu. You can visit different historically and culturally significant places like Pashupati Nath, MahaBouddha Stupa, Swoyambhu Maha Chaitya, Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, etc. The next day, you will ride mostly through the zig-zag highway up to Besisahar. Within your trip, you will cover a distance of 576 Km. The real adventure begins after Besisahar. The complete dusty roads with stones mud and slush, bumps will run along a deep gorge made by the Marsyangdi River. The trip passes through small settlements along the Marsyangdi River banks, pristine waterfalls, etc. Before reaching Manang, you will cross small rural towns like Jagat, Chame, Pisang, etc. At Manang, you can hike up to Gangapurna Lake, and observe the spectacular Gangapurna peak with glaciers, small yet beautiful Chhortens, gumbas, colorful prayer flags, etc. You will trek to Tilicho lake and be back to Manang and then to Kathmandu.
This is a very challenging ride, so riders must have good riding skills, prior experience of off-roading on a bike, riding gear, equipment, etc.
