Your journey starts in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The urban sprawl of this beautiful city is in the embrace of the Himalayas, and it’s one of the most unique places on this planet. It is also known as the “city of temples,” the place is decorated with pagodas, shrines, and temples where Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, and other faiths assemble to practice their faith. As you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will first encounter this enchanting capital. One of the reps from Adventure Altitude Treks will show up soon to take you on the short drive to the town hotel, where you will check in. There, you will meet your trekking guide, learn more about the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, and, afterward, have dinner for the night.

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, a tour bus will take you comfortably to Pokhara. This ride should take about six or seven hours max; don't fret about getting bored during the journey. As we leave the capital city behind, you'll enjoy the rural landscapes of Nepal passing by your window: green forests, cultivated fields with barley and others, blithesome rivers with a sunny reflection, and ice mountains dominating all around.

When we go to Pokhara, you will learn why it's famous among people who love adrenaline. You can spend a day doing the best of it here like bungee jumping, hang gliding, zip-lining, whitewater rafting sightseeing etc. However, Pokhara will be the first step in our journey to the Annapurna Base Camp the following morning when we start our trek. For tonight, let us find the most comfortable accommodation, and after a good supper, we shall have a good night's rest.

After breakfast, we will proceed on a 25-minute drive to Nayapul, the beginning of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Initially, we will cross it and then move towards the densely vegetated Modi River that runs through the deep green forests of Nepal. Now is the time to hike through a suspension bridge, a terraced hill, and a falling waterfall.

Throughout this stretch, we will cross through a couple of villages where we can take short breaks and proceed to Tikhedhunga, a destination five to six hours away. We will choose an establishment among those tea shops surrounding us where we will spend the night. How about you wrap up your day with a brief walk about town, and only if it is not cloudy you'll surely look up and see the magnificent view of Mt. Machapuchare, known as Fishtail Mountain.

  • Altitude/Time2880m/ 5-6 hr

We will go to Annapurna Base Camp Trek today, famous for its beautiful switchback trail comprising a stone staircase that continues for a long time. From here, we will start climbing towards the long staircase and cross the river of Tikhedhunga Khola. Furthermore, the number of steps lies between 1,000 and 3,000 in this stairway.

We will not be in a hurry; we will reach the top bit by bit while passing through wonderful terraced maize fields and a charming and small Ulleri hillside village. It is very convenient to visit here and have fun with those friendly village locals. We are on the way over the rhododendron blankets of the forest, which are beautifully dressed with some colorful birds when you look around. Yet, the reason that will make your heart pound is the Himalayas as you reach your next destination, Ghorepani.

Poon Hill is the nearest and another attraction for trekking. Nonetheless, the splendid scenes from the top of the mountain can be seen again tomorrow. Now, we can enjoy hot food and the cozy bed in the lodge at Ghorepani. Overnight will be at one of the tea houses booked by your guest.

  • AccommodationTea Houses
  • MealsBreakfast-Lunch-Dinner
  • Altitude/Time2630m/ 5-6 hr

We rise early today to go and ascend to Poon Hill and see the gorgeous Himalayan mountains, especially Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri peaks from sunrise. However, if you plan to hike on a trail in the spring, get the taste of the rhododendrons at their peak. Then, we will continue our journey along the Tadapani road after the rejuvenation of our body and soul from the cup of tea in this spectacular mountain scenery.

On this route, red rhododendrons and pine slopes can be observed to help you see the best spots on your way. Now that we have arrived at Tadapani, you take out almost all your trekking gear to get close snapshots of Machapuchare and Hiunchuli. At night, rest at one of the tea houses around.

Today, our trek takes us along the stone trail that drops through the forest with fantastic prayer flags and mani walls. Mani walls are stone walls of single stones carved or painted with Buddhist prayers. They are found everywhere in the Himalayas, and you can be sure they will be seen in many of your favorite shots.

Our trek continues with the suspension bridge crossing the Khumbu Khola River and encountering little Gurung villages. Then, in the end, this trail will be crowned with another impressive view of the snowy apex of Machapuchare. Eventually, we'll come to Chhomrong, which stands at 2,210 meters. This is one of the highest settlements where people live in the Annapurnas. We'll have several lodges to choose from. We will select the best lodge and bed to collect ourselves for well-earned rest.

  • AccommodationTea Houses
  • MealsBreakfast-Lunch-Dinner
  • Altitude/Time2,900m/ 5-6 hr

The path descends to Chomrong Khola now, and we ascend again to Khuldighar. Our goal is to reach a particular lodge known as the Himalayas. To reach our destination, we will descend from Chhomrong, cross a suspension bridge over Chhomrong Khola, and then follow the trail to Sinuwa.

The trail will take us through the dense green forest and waterfalls laden with color, and the Sinuwa ridgeline will grant superb scenic views that will rival anything we have witnessed hitherto. This is where the trail goes up and down through bamboo woodlands, but any spectacular view of monkeys will be a stroke of luck. Once we finally reach the Himalayas, we will ensure that we get much-needed sleep.

Today is the best day of our entire Annapurna Base Camp Trek timeline. We will not only visit but also spend two separate base camps in a period of merely a few hours. We start our path along the glacial moraines and through tiny birch groves, and we finally arrive at our destination – Annapurna Sanctuary. We might encounter an avalanche as we continue, so we’ll ask the locals first to know the latest trail conditions. We will come across Machapuchare Base Camp shortly, where you can see Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli in the distance.

Our destination is Annapurna Base Camp, and it’s breathtaking. The Annapurna massif spans over 50 km of Himalayan land, and the Annapurna Sanctuary will bring you closer to this marvelous highland. Spare all the time you need to celebrate our successes; photograph opportunities are endless. When our feet are tired, we will climb into the lodge at the base camp, eat dinner, and sleep.

  • MealsBreakfast-Lunch-Dinner
  • Altitude/Time2,345m/ 5-6 hr

Returning to Annapurna Base Camp will not be as hard as our hike. We will have enough time for breakfast and watch the sun rise above the mountains. Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and Machapuchare shining gold in the morning sun will remain in your memory forever. After breakfast, we will descend the rolling slope to the Bamboo Bridge. This village is next to a thick forest of rhododendrons and bamboo that we will walk 6 or 7 hours to.

This morning, our route will go along a shade-dappled forest in the first part, and we will lead back to Chhomrong in the second part. Today, we will go to an establishment in a remote village named Sinuwa, where we will find a teahouse that will serve as our shelter for the night. Indeed, visiting the hot springs at Jhinu Danda is the best part of this journey.

There's the exclusive feeling that comes with letting your tired muscles float in the sweet waters. While you remain there, you will encounter the calmness of the forest, which comes from the banks of Modi Khola. The stress will just vanish from your mind. Having been in the hot springs for some time now, allow the warmth of it to relax you completely and get to your accommodation for a tasty meal.

On the last day of our hike through Annapurna Base Camp Trail, we will pass by some of the areas we visited yesterday. As we finish breakfast, we begin to go downhill towards Nayapul by crossing suspension bridges, passing through terraced fields, and following the riverbank of Modi Khola. It will take us around four hours to climb the trail, dodging above small villages before reaching Nayapul again.

We’ll grab a much-deserved lunch on our arrival and finish the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We still have some distance to cover, but we will return to Pokhara by road. It’s a short trip that will motivate you to enjoy comfortable rooms and a hotel shower afterward. It is the last day of today’s journey, so tonight, we complete our journey with a farewell dinner with our team at the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. This allows us to rewind our favorite moments of the journey.

Savor your breakfast this morning and bid the glistening city of Pokhara farewell. The end of our trip takes us to Kathmandu on a long-distance tourist bus or a commercial flight, depending on your travel plans and choice. On arriving in Kathmandu, this is your last opportunity to hunt for souvenirs and memorabilia in Thamel, the famous area for travelers. If you spend more than a day in Nepal, we will be pleased to help you visit the city's many historical and cultural sights and any other tours to other destinations. If you are interested in any sightseeing plans, check out our Kathmandu Day Tour and UNESCO Sites Tour in Kathmandu- 2 Days.
