The country's first Himalayan national park, Langtang National park, is the fourth protected areas in Nepal. The park is inhabited by some rare and threatened animals like red pandas and snow leopards. The very existence of these endangered species is a sign of the park’s healthy Himalayan ecosystem. Including red panda and snow leopard, there are 46 species of mammals like Himalayan Thar, wild boar, Ghoral, grey langur monkey, Himalayan brown bear, Musk deer, etc. In addition, 70 species of butterflies and 345 species of birds such as Impeyan pheasant, ibis bill, snow partridge, crimson horned pheasant, etc hover around the park.
Likewise, there are 1043 species of vascular, 15 of them including Rhododendron are endemic species. During spring red, white, and pink rhododendron blossoms alongside oak, laurel, blue pine, sal, and Castanopsis indica. Similarly, an extravagant display of wildflowers can be seen during autumn. The park is decorated naturally with evergreen forests of maple, oaks and pines. Rhododendron provides even more beauty to the forest during flowering season.
The two big rivers Bhotekoshi and Trishuli flow through the region and both are famous for high speed water rafting. The Valley hosts mountains like, Langtang Lirung (7234 m), Dorje Lakpa (6966 m) Langtang Ri (7205 m) and many more amazing mountain peaks.
The Tour commence from Domestic terminal at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. The total time will be approximately one and half hours for a round trip that is from KLathmandu to Kyanjin Gompa and back to Kathmandu. The main canter of attraction in Langtang Valley Helicopter tour in Kyanjin Gompa. The monastery is situated in the lap of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa and Langshhisha peak. According to local inhabitants, the monastery is considered to be six centuries old. The architecture seen along the walls are believed to be brought from ancient Tibet about four centuries ago. The inner architecture of the monastery is filled with Buddhist arts and statues along with 'Dhomares' meaning the inhabitants of the land of red rocks. There is a large frog shaped rock located at the centre of the Monastery. Locals believe that the rock has been there ever since the Monastery was built.
