What Are The Places You Will Visit on Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 days

Chisapani Village

The first destination of our Nagarkot Chisapani Dhulikhel Trek trail lies close to the west of Shivapuri National Park. The name of Chisapani, which is the translation from the Nepali word "cold water," is the most appropriate name for the place because that name means the coolness and calmness of the waters there. Sunny days throughout the village await oneself and the magnificent sunrise views from the glittering Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Himal ranges. Nevertheless, if the sky is filled with clouds, you can not look at the ranges well. Here, it is known as where the most miraculous sunrises happen; the mountains miles away show their white teeth.

Nagarkot

Nagarkot portrays the natural serenity of Bhaktapur. It is just like a heaven on earth that neither one can visualise nor can they afford to miss this place. Whether visiting a town or staying together at an inn or a resort. Its proximity to the capital of Nepal is only 32 kilometres. Most tourists usually choose to see the sunrise and sunset from Nagarkot. They also wish to see the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayan range of Nepal. On a clear day, you can identify all the eight or thirteen Himalayan Ranges enormously from a distance. Hence, it is also known as the highest point of Bhaktapur and also the highest point we reach on Chisapani 4 Days Hike from Kathmandu Itinerary. In addition, you may not stop at the incredible cities, but you can also visit the beautiful towns.

Dhulikhel Village

Just 30 kilometres east of Kathmandu in Nepal, there is a tiny town of Dhulikhel. It is the place that tourists prefer the most. You can enjoy beautiful wide-range views of the snow-clad Himalayas from here, with Mt. Everest as the main. Also, with its rich cultural heritage, Dhulikhel is widely known for its indigenous Newari architecture and friendly locals. Dhulikhel remains another characteristically diverse place with its own traditional Newari architecture. Yes, old and historical buildings, temples, and shrines are the essence of the place. The Old Town in Dhulikhel is the city landmark, with many Newari homes and intricate wood carvings in the traditional style.

NamoBuddha

Namo Buddha is a top Buddhist pilgrimage destination in Nepal. It is one of the three significant stupas in the Kathmandu Valley. Two other stupas are the Swayambhunath stupa and the Boudhanath stupa. The Namo Buddha stupa is located 40 km southeast from Kathmandu city. It is believed to have been made at Prince Semchen Chenpo's cremation, i.e., bones and hair. Namo Buddha is located on a hill and we reach this destination on the last day of Trek to Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel. As a result, we are able to see the mountains from the north from a very broad view. In winter, the southern winds bring coldness, and in summer, the air remains warm due to the warm and gentle sun.

Panauti

Panauti is one of the historic Newari towns of Nepal located at a distance of 34 km south-west of Kathmandu. The place is the last destination we visit on Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 Days Itinerary. It is said to have been inherited from Bhupatindra Malla, who married his sister. Then, it was again united in the Nepal Kingdom by Prithvi Narayan Shah. Panauti has to be the most enchanting cultural location, the same as other places known as Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur. The classic dwellings, gardens, temples, and monuments are the main features of the village. Houses, an art of the builder, with their own roofs and window shapes, prove the skill here. Stones and bricks cover the tiny and stony lanes.

What Is The Best Time for Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 days

The most wonderful thing about Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek is that you can enjoy it all year round. The fact that the trail is at a low elevation solves the problem of altitude sickness in contrast to other trails. This gives you an opportunity to choose a season that is closest to your pastime and preferences. Anyway, if you want to make the most of it, spring (March-May) and autumn (September- November) seasons are recommended.

Spring (March-may) and Autumn Season (September-November)

In spring and Autumn, the climate is so lovely; you can take a Chisapani 4 Days Hike from Kathmandu freely. Thus, you will get rid of the summer heat and even the winter-chilling winds. The good thing about being on foot during the shoulder season is that you may see the atypical beauty of the great mountains without the bashed-down weather. Blue sky with little rainfall is frequent in the spring and autumn seasons. The visibility this gives, as a result, allows one to enjoy the spectacular view of the Himalayas.  Imagine how lovely it would be to experience the sensation of getting up at daybreak and seeing uninterrupted sights of mountains that are really inspiring and cannot be erased from your mind.

Summer (June to August) and Winter (December to February)

The monsoon season has an almost magical ability to transform the landscape into a flawless beauty. Rain storms sometimes accompany the weather, and the routes are covered with mud and water. In addition, clouds might block the visibility on your Nagarkot Chisapani Trek adventure. In the high mountains, winter is generally cold. On the other hand, from November, this temperature starts to drop rapidly; the high humidity level that lasts all year long is the reason for a lot of mist and fog, especially in the mornings, which substantially decreases the visibility around the mountains and valleys.

Accommodations on Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 days

Chisapani 4 Days Hike from Kathmandu offers various kinds of stays, which reflect the individuality of each of the mentioned places. Located in the heart of the mountains, the teahouses in Chisapani and Dhulikhel are called lodges. There are wooden or simple houses with a tiled roof at the tea houses. Well, these are the homestay-like guesthouses where the Nepalese people are both hosts and guests simultaneously and offer a lot of Nepali hospitality. There are different types of rooms in these lodges. In case you are seeking more privacy and comfort, you can reserve rooms with twin beds that will enable you to stay apart from each other on your Nagarkot Chisapani Trek. You can be certain that you will find a clean and comfortable bed with pillows, blankets, and sheets. Toilets are shared by most, and the toilets would be squat toilets as well. During those times, hot water facilities would be built in the lodge.

On the other hand, in Nagarkot, you will be either housed in a hotel or lodge offering the amenities you need. Nagarkot hotel rooms have a variety of bedrooms and different service prices. The rooms should have private bathrooms, cosy beds, and balconies, or large windows that offer Himalayas views. The hotels provide a higher level of comfort than a lodge with additional services. Services such as 24/7 hot showers, power outlets, Wifi (although with poor connectivity), and in-house restaurants with a very diverse menu selection can be expected.

Meals and Drinks on Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 Days

The villages often offer a food menu fixed along with the trekking package. Be prepared for basic, homely Nepali food, which is heavily reliant on local produce.

For breakfast, the menu might have oatmeal, toast, scrambled eggs, and tea or coffee. For lunch, you can choose sandwiches, fruits, and boiled eggs as options, and for dinner, which is the local favourite, you can have dal Bhat (lentil soup with rice, curries made from seasonal veggies, and stir-fried greens). At times, non-vegetarian foods can be served, but vegetarian dishes can be ordered at any time.

Since there are more hotels in Nagarkot, hence there is a greater range of restaurants that provide food diversity. Therefore, an enlarged menu will be added with Nepal's international and national specialties.

You can also try out Newari cuisine in Dhulikhel and Panauti at the end of your trip. Grab food like Yomari (steamed dumplings with sweet stuffing), Bara (deep-fried lentils dough-nut), and Chhoyela (spicy marinated meat). Panauti is also known for its fantastic Juju Dhau (Yogurt), which is a good treat for the trekker who has just finished the trekking excursion.

If you are thirsty, do not forget to drink traditional Nepali beverages. One of the beverages we frequently enjoy here is Chaang, a beer brewed from rice fermentation. For those who do not drink alcohol, pick Lassi, a Yogurt beverage with fruit or spice flavours to chill up.

How to Be Prepared for Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek?

The most remarkable feature of the Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel hike is that it is near the Himalayas and offers amazing scenery. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable 4-day adventure, here's a breakdown of your preparation needs:

  • The difficulty level is described as easy to moderate. However, the hikes won't be very demanding, but you'll be on your feet for hours at a time. Prevention is always better than cure. Thus, you can start with regular walks of 10-15 minutes or hikes to maintain the habit if you are not into physical activities.
  • Many complicated permits are not required, but you should bring your passport and itinerary if asked.
  • The guest houses of Chisapani, Nagarkot, and Dhulikhel will provide you with simple yet comfortable rooms. Do everything possible to guarantee your seat in advance, especially during the peak season.
  • Download offline maps or just familiarise yourself with the trail. While the mobile network may not be stable, you might purchase a local SIM card to stay connected. You can try to search for information on cultural norms and ways of greeting people in the country by using the internet and the library.
  • Having the right attitude and tolerance are key to success at every step. Prepare yourself for the weather, the speed, and unknown things you cannot control. Take advantage of the opportunity to be alone with nature without being connected to people or other living beings. Be sure you have a good plan and pack carefully before you start the Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel trek, and then leave yourself a part of the Himalayas so that you can make memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Guide Services for Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 days

They will keep you company by giving you a hand during critical times and supporting you on the trail. Your entertainment will be the unique and beautiful atmosphere of the Himalayas; your guide, though, will make all the preparations.

What Permits Are Required for Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek 4 days?

This Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trek does not need any long-term permits. On the other hand, an entrance fee is required if you intend to explore Shivapuri National Park. Currently, the entrance fee is NPR 1,500 for foreigners and NPR 100 for locals. It is worth noting that you are supposed to pay park fees at the park gate on your way in.

TIMS card: On the other hand, this permit is not compulsory, therefore, it can only be recommended if you plan other treks in Nepal. The TIMS card is a trekking information management system (TIMS) card that the government uses to trace trekkers and ensure they are safe. A TIMS Card can be procured from Kathmandu's Nepal Tourism Board office.

Is Travel Insurance Required For The Trek?

The Chisapani Nagarkot to Dhulikhel trekking route is one of the short and scenic treks near Kathmandu Valley; you don't need a travel insurance policy. As it is nearer to the city and has a lower altitude, one is less likely to face major medical emergencies during this trek than in high-altitude trekking in Nepal. Nonetheless, you still need to consider travel insurance, and here is why:

  • While trekking, one should always be ready to encounter unpredictable situations. Whether it's just an ankle sprain, or altitude sickness at a lower level, it could definitely change your itinerary and in some cases, you may even need medical attention.
  • On the flip side, insurance is a resource for you that gives you security and assures you that you have the means to go through even the most challenging times.
  • Although not expensive, Medical care in Nepal may lead to more expenditure. The least expected injury, such as a cut that needs stitches or minor medication, will definitely be an extra expense to your budget.
  • Even though the narrow paths are well maintained, you can have a search and rescue operation by helicopter in extreme cases. The facts clearly state that the cost of helicopter evacuation in Nepal is crazy. In cases like this, travel insurance with helicopter evacuation could be beneficial and cost-friendly.
  • There is a high risk of altitude sickness if you combine the Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel trek with other treks like EBC or ABC, which require travel insurance. Most companies that organise treks include this requirement for treks above a certain altitude because the level of risk is high.
