I spent the canoe trip along the Rapti River observing the most diverse birds, including the colourful kingfishers and the giant egrets. The cultural feature of the nearby Tharu tribe was the cake topper - the chance to learn about their everyday life and enjoy their tribal dance made it fun. The food which was prepared there would be delicious enough, and the chef in the area would use fresh ingredients. The lodge was a cosy place to stay, and it was a great relief after a long day of enjoying the excitement of the jungle. My time was limited, but I craved a glimpse of Everest's majesty. Adventure Altitude Treks' helicopter tour to EBC, organised by Rohit, was the perfect solution.
